Ordered takeout, but prices are very high on GrubHub. Food was excellent though! Ceviche was fresh with a punch of lime, pickled onions and very tasty yucca chips. Would have preferred corn nuts vs the fresh corn, but it all still worked together. Wings were a refreshing twist on the usual and were great with the garlic dipping sauce. Chicken sandwich with the yucca fries was very flavorful. I've had their Sancocho before, and it's one of my favorites! BYOB too which is always a plus! Just a star short bc it's very expensive here.

Mofongo has never been a favorite dish for me because in the other places I've had it, they were usually too dry or too hard but this place does a phenomenal Mofongo which now, ironically, Mofongo now is my favorite dish when I come here.

It's a small restaurant but very cozy and nice inside (definitely did not expect it based on the outside appearance). Servers were attentive but let's talk about the food-- ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. We only ordered apps and the portion sizes did not disappoint. Ceviche was delicious as well. Everything was absolutely delicious and I think this is my favorite Peruvian/Cuban/Latin American restaurant in North NJ. Definitely a must try. Very hard to pick a favorite dish but their empanadas stole my heart. I cannot wait to come back again!!

Food: delicious empanadas! Entrees were ok Service: this is a mom and pop place; friendly; attentive as they can be, not going to expect much more than that, they're doing the best they can Ambiance: tight knit spaces; thankfully no covid protocol needed(!) The empanadas alone are worth it

This is my favorite empanada place in the Meadowlands. Their philly cheese steak is the bomb. Just the right ratios of meat, cheese, and yummy seasoning. My next favorite empanada is their chicken. They also have this great green sauce they serve with their empanadas. I have to honestly say I love their empanadas so much that generally make a meal of them. If I feel like a sweet treat, you can't go wrong with an order of sweet plantains.

Wow! What an outstanding meal we had at this small, but cozy spot. The restaurant is decorated with splashes of old Havana, making the ambiance very charming. All the servers were very pleasant and efficient. But onto the real star - the food! We ordered: Mexican Street Corn Empanada, Arepitas Dulce, Trifongo with Pernil, Carne Asada, Crème Brûlée Cheesecake, and Coquito Flan The Empanda was perfect to share because it was quite large. Crispy outside, with a delicious corn filling. They have a long list of very creative empanada options. Definitely recommend. The Arepitas were smallish sweet corn cakes, topped with ropa veija. It comes with three. These were outstanding! So much flavor from the very savory meat contrasting with the sweet corn cake. Divine! My husband had the Carne Asada, which came with perfectly cooked tostones, rice, and red beans. The portion is massive. There was a family of three next to us that was sharing this as their entree. Steak cooked and seasoned perfectly. I had the Trifongo, which was also humongous. From the first bite, I was knocked out by flavor. A heaping pile of beautiful roasted pork, atop a sweet and savory mix of yucca, plantain, and maduros. Omg! One of my favorite dishes in the area! You must save room for dessert. The Flan was the best that I've had, and the cheesecake was heavy but delicious. Even my espresso was crazy good! The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that you get. We brought home enough for a second meal! Also, it is BYO so that helps keep your cost down. Don't miss out on this real gem.

MIND BLOWN! That about sums it up. We were looking for a new Cuban restaurant to change things up, saw the positive reviews and said why not. Thank goodness we did! From the outside, its most humble and unassuming storefront hides the treasure within. From the moment you step in, you just know this is going to be special. I can't emphasize enough how transcending the food was. I dare say BETTER than my grandmother made (forgive me abuelita)! Legit! So much so we just have not stopped talking about it. The empanada menu alone makes it hard not to order them all. And it's BYOB!!! This will be on our go to list and look forward to trying EVERYTHING! The decor is the cutest and well curated! Fresh and clean and awesome music/ambiance. Lastly the service could not be more hospitable and genuine. This is a find! Be sure to make reservations!!!

Mambo Latin Kitchen was an exceptional experience. The fusion of every item is evident and I'm glad that Cuban spearheads the cuisine. After all, Mambo was invented in Havana. The restaurant is decorated beautifully, the staff worked diligently to make our experience memorable, and we enjoyed the music that constantly played throughout the meal. The empanadas that we started with (Brisket Oxtail, Pastelon, and Mexican)  were the best I've ever had. We even ordered some for dessert (Guava and Nutella). The drinks (Piña Colada and Mango Smoothie) were just as good as the empanadas. Our entrees were exceptional. The Bistec Encebollado was incredible, the moro rice was perfectly prepared, and the sweet plantains were delightfully sweet. The portion was also large enough to ask for a to-go container. The Lomo/Steak, I was told, was the best they ever had. The tenderness of each piece of steak, combined with the white rice/fries, made the dish scrumptious. The Quarter Chicken, with Arepa con Queso, was exquisite. The meat tenderly came off the bone and the sweet smell of the seasoning was superb. For dessert, we shared the Coquito Flan and it just followed the same pattern as the rest of the meal. The coconut flakes, adorning the top, combined with the whipped cream, was a nice complement to every spoonful of sweetness. Mambo Latin Kitchen won us over. I wish everyone continued success and I WILL return with many others, in order to experience the same memorable meal that was throughly enjoyed.

I don't even like Cuban food and this place is fantastic. The food is incredible and the empanadas are ALL good. Yes, it's a fusion restaurant so it's not just Cuban. Maybe that's what makes it better? 100/10. It's also BYOB, the decor is adorable, bathroom is very clean and staff are friendly.

Very happy we ate at Mambo for brunch today!!! Great location, felt like I was in Cuba. The food was superb, good enough that I ordered 1/2 dozen empanadas to go for a snack later. Yet another great local spot for brunch, definitely coming back again. Only complaint I would have is I thought the viva Columbia dish I ordered was a bit on the stingy side with only 2 pieces of pork belly and street parking only.
